Stage show enthusiasts were treated to three nights of musical theatre before the curtains came down “On The Land of the Gypsies”, the musical play produced by the highly acclaimed Rahbani family from Lebanon. The play ran to packed houses on all three days during its regional debut during DSF from January 10-12, with a cast of over 70 actors, singers and dancers holding audiences spellbound with their colourful presentation amid captivating music.
Written, composed and produced by Ghadi Rahbani, the play was directed by Marwan Rahbani and featured such luminaries of Arabic musical theatre as Ghassan Saliba, Aline Lahoud, Paul Sleiman and Pierre Chamoun, among others.
“On the Land of the Gypsies” was one of the major events presented by Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), the organizers of DSF, as part of the exciting world-class line-up of events that matched the festival’s marketing slogan ‘Dubai at its Best’.
